I Went A Decade Without Dating. Here's What Happened

Save

Ten years ago, my life was a complete mess.

I was 25 years old, my grandmother was dying, and my Adderall use was quickly becoming an addiction. I was in a world of debt, and losing friends fast. Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse, the man I loved started cheating on me and my relationship ended in violence.

Up until that point, I'd never had good experiences with dating. My previous relationships had created a yearning for validation that ruled me mentally, physically, and emotionally. They caused me to feel weak, inadequate, and worthless in every aspect of life.

I would constantly attract men who did not appreciate my value because I did not appreciate my own self-worth at the time.

I knew I needed to learn to love myself the way that I wanted someone else to love me. But I didn't know how.

One night when things were at their worst, I was walking toward my condo and saw a book sitting on a bench. I could feel a distinct energy drawing me toward the text, and I stood frozen when I saw the words "fourth deadly sin" on its cover. When I opened the book, I saw that it was talking about lust. I'm a spiritual person, and I took the text as a sign that I needed to stop putting my relationships before God and myself.

I decided to let go of relationships altogether, and I made a commitment never to date again. I told myself that fulfilling my purpose was far more important than anything I could gain from a romantic partnership. Intimacy was something I thought I would never have again, and I was totally okay with that.

I avoided situations in which I could be hit on — I stopped going out and barely communicated with members of the opposite sex unless they were married or in a serious relationship. I built a wall around myself that was so high that I had no idea how anyone could ever break it down. Intimacy simply wasn’t an option, so my entire life became about working to create a business. I began developing courses for life coaches and eventually started traveling near and far to teach at wellness retreats.

“We Are Not Alone” The Shamans Of The World Tell Us

shaman

To disregard the problems facing the Earth and to proceed with business as usual in education would be a betrayal of trust. Our students want to know how to make a difference. They need hope. And it won’t come if all we can offer is another scientific theory or technological fix. We must expand our vision to seek non-scientific alternatives. To make a difference, we must search for different understandings. Let us look to the wisdom of our ancestors. They believed that intelligence is not restricted to humans but is possessed by all creatures – plants as well as animals — and by the Earth itself.
They also believed in spirits. Human welfare was understood to depend on tapping into these wellsprings of wisdom, and all ancient societies (just like indigenous peoples today) had specialists skilled in communication with the natural world and with spirits. These people we now call shamans, and this article argues for the inclusion of shamanic practice in the educational curriculum. Shamanism gives working access to an alternative technique of acquiring knowledge. Although a pragmatic, time-tested system, it makes no claim to be science. Its strengths and limitations are different from those of the sciences and thus complement them. Being affective and subjective, shamanism offers another way of knowing.
Reason sets the boundaries far too narrowly for us, and would have us accept only the known – and that too with limitations – and live in a known framework, just as if we were sure how far life actually extends. . . . The more the critical reason dominates, the more impoverished life becomes. . . . Overvalued reason has this in common with political absolutism: under its dominion the individual is pauperised. – Carl Jung
Of course science will offer some valuable new directions, but at the same time we must expand our vision to seek non-scientific alternatives. To make a difference, we must search for different understandings. I am fortunate to live in a country, New Zealand, where many of my compatriots have an understanding of past and future that is fundamentally different from the prevailing ‘Western’ view. Most in our civilisation consider it self-evident that we stand facing the future with the past behind us, but traditionally for New Zealand Maori it is the future that is behind them.

How Sacred Science Addresses What Modern Physics Ignores

Collective-EvolutionCollective Evolution

sacredscience

In a recent attempt to understand how conventional physics “explains” reality, I began to read Lawrence Krauss’ A Universe from Nothing
Krauss is one of those famous scientists like Richard Dawkins who doesn’t find anything strange about the fact that existence IS.
Instead he takes EVERYTHING for granted and attacks, like Dawkins and Bill Maher, the low hanging fruit of organized religion and its dogmatic, unproven Gods created in our image.
When I tried reading his book I got a bit frustrated and then checked the index for the word “consciousness,” and when I did not find it, I put the book aside.
The question really is – “what” exactly is “nothing.”

...

First and foremost it is a concept.  Nothing does not exist.  What exists is, well, everything.
Nothing is the word or placeholder we use for null – similar to zero in math – but in both cases (words and math) they are human abstractions or interpretations of Nature.  As such they are a step removed from reality and flawed by the limitations of our own perceptions  and consciousness – a fact that escapes many modern physicists but which was in fact apparent to great thinkers like Einstein and Schrodinger.

Let Yourself Be Worthy

“The least of things with a meaning is worth more in life than the greatest of things without it.” – Carl Jung
restore-your-worth
Pretend I’m an enlightened Yogi-Zen Master sitting high on a jagged, wind-blasted, unforgiving mountain. You’ve traveled through hell and brimstone to reach the top. The path was filled with a plethora of trials and tribulations. You’re now exhausted, covered in sweat, and seeking only one thing: wisdom.
Imagine me illuminated, meditating, glowing like a fractal-Buddha. My wrinkles, my long gray beard and my wise eyes staring down the improbable universe that surrounds us. You are taken aback, astonished by my vibrant, thunderously quiet energy. You’ve come for answers. And though you’re skeptical, your curiosity trumps your doubt.
The stories you’ve heard about me could no longer be ignored. And so you ascended the mountain, and now you’re standing in front of me, nearly out of breath, and you ask:
“Oh wise master, how do I conquer fear, guilt, shame, and attachment?
I look down at you from my precarious stone perch, eyes blazing with thousand-year-old wisdom. Moments go by without a word. The silence is deafening. Finally you can take it no longer,
“What,” you plead, “what is the answer?”
I open my mouth as if to speak. More moments go by. Seconds pass as if in infinities. Then, finally, I say only four words: Let yourself be worthy. That’s right! You want to conquer fear, guilt, shame, attachment? Let yourself be worthy. You want to break mental paradigms and stretch comfort zones? Let yourself be worthy.
You want to think outside of boxes and hijack evolution into revealing its secrets? Let yourself be worthy. You want to discover love and recondition preconditions? Let yourself be worthy. You want to usurp thrones, burn down high-horses, and change the world? Let yourself be worthy. The irony is that you just climbed a MOUNTAIN! That very act was an act of self-worth. I mean, the very act of climbing that mountain was an act of conquering fear, and letting go of guilt, shame, and attachment.

Eight Signs You may be Experiencing a Spiritual Awakening

spiritual-awakening

spiritual-awakening“Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.” ~ Miles Kington
1. You’re more in touch with your spiritual foundations through transformative meditation:
You realize, as Jung noted, that “the experience of the Self is always a defeat for the Ego.” And through the seven primary chakras you are becoming one with the cosmos, receptive to stimuli to which, in the time before, you were insensate.
You’ve felt the powerful kundalini energy rising up from your roots, passing through the sacred waters of the sacral, basking in the fire of the solar plexus, breathing in the vital breath of the heart, absorbing the ethereal voice of the throat, pouring through the dissolution of the Third Eye, and spilling up and out like a mighty fountainhead into the greater cosmos.
2. You are beginning to want more freedom and less stuff:
Your heart is not heavy with materialistic burden. You understand that ownership-based love can never be true love. You realize like Osho said, “Love is not about possession. Love is about appreciation.” And although there are some people in the world who are so poor all they have is money, you continue to love without expecting anything in return. You have frequent, overwhelming episodes of appreciation for the abundance the natural world has to offer. Like Gandhi, you live simply so that others may simply live.
3. You realize that the door to your prison cell is wide open (and always has been):
seeing-the-light
Rumi, “Why do you stay in prison when the door is wide open?”
You have a growing propensity toward breaking mental paradigms, stretching comfort zones and thinking outside of the current box. You have a tendency to think and act spontaneously rather than from fears based on past experiences, and you are constantly attempting to recondition any and all preconditions.
You enjoy each moment, relishing, in carpe-diem-ecstasy, your bountiful freedom. It was Rumi who asked, “Why do you stay in prison when the door is wide open?”
4. The world is a playground, and you are on recess:
You don’t take yourself too seriously. You realize that, though hard work is necessary, sincere play is paramount. You understand that play is the only way that the highest intelligence of humankind can unfold. Your sense of humor has become your safety net. You understand that sincerity is primary and should always trump seriousness. Like Nietzsche wrote, “The struggle of maturity is to recover the seriousness of a child at play.”

Spiritual Reality - The Journey Within
Realidad espiritual - El camino al interior
Meditation is the  journey of our consciousness towards our inner Self.
La meditación es el camino de nuestra conciencia hacia el Sí mismo.
Sleep is unconscious Meditation and Meditation is conscious sleep.
El sueño es inconsciente Meditación y Meditación es el sueño consciente.
In sleep we get limited energy in sleep we get  abundant  Energy with Meditation.

Recibimos una cierta cantidad de energía cósmica en el sueño y en profundo silencio. Recibimos la Energía Cósmica abundante en la Meditación.
In meditation we consciously travel  from:
